Classroom
Exit Ticket Story
A short written game where students use lesson words in a tiny story.
How to play
Simple rules
Have paper, printable ready before you explain the rules. Explain the goal in one sentence, run a short first round, then let the group settle into the rhythm.
- Choose three words from the lesson.
- Players write a three-sentence story using all three words.
- Invite a few volunteers to read theirs.
- Collect or save the stories as exit tickets.
Best use
When this works well
Good fit
Use it for warmups, transitions, review moments, or short creative practice.
Maybe skip it
Skip it if the class needs quiet independent work or if movement would be hard to manage.
Variation
Change the format
Make it a two-person story where each person writes one sentence.
Tips
Make it work better
- Connect at least one prompt to the lesson so the activity feels useful, not like filler.
- Keep the first round simple and treat it as practice.
- Let players pass if they need a moment.
- Stop while the activity still has energy instead of stretching it too long.
